Hopefully this new one with have a group of survivors thats memorable and still focuses on the emotional pull to their characters too. Looking forward to SCREAM 5 2021.

You have time to develop empathy for each character, their backstories, and connections to one another fleshed out in small bursts throughout the film. While the human condition is in question, the narrative also explores societal themes, which are all perfectly juxtaposed with gory yet skillfully crafted action sequences.
This movie on the other hand may as well be directed by Michael Bay with pointless action and explosions. It tries too hard to be like Hollywood action movies and it shows. I will pretend this movie never happened.

She then shouts out to Ranma that she has to defeat the Destroyer without hitting his vital spots and then asks Ranma what she's going to do. However, Ranma reveals that she already hit all the packets, upsetting her. As the Destroyer falls to the ground, Shampoo tells Ranma that she shouldn't have helped Akane. As the Destroyer lands, Akane shouts at Shampoo for trying to pin the blame on her. Ranma, meanwhile, jumps towards Shampoo and asks for forgiveness from her, much to the confusion of Akane. Shampoo takes out another Nannīchuan packet and tells Ranma that this is the last one. Ranma quickly tries to grab it, but Shampoo moves out of the way before she can do so. Shampoo then proceeds to pour hot water over Ranma and tells him that if he wants it then he has to give her one more kiss. The Destroyer Revives Soun and Akane hear this. After Shampoo kicks the packet across the room, Akane catches it as it comes towards her. Ranma runs towards Akane, as Shampoo chases after him. The Destroyer then begins throwing more Dojo signs at the pair, which they avoid (Akane just stands still as the signs hit the wall around her). Ranma then sees a sign about to hit Akane, so kicks her out of the way while he grabs the sign. Akane then suddenly asks Ranma if he kissed Shampoo, to which Ranma replies that he didn't. This causes Akane to ask if Shampoo kissed him instead, but Ranma denies that as well, angering Akane into demanding to know just who he did kiss. The Lies Continue Shampoo's faux fantasy of Ranma preparing to kiss her. Shampoo then suddenly comes out with how Ranma told her he loves her. She then says that Ranma swept her up and describes his kisses like rain on parched earth. As Akane stands shocked, Ranma flips over a table in anger while declaring that that isn't what happened. Akane takes Shampoo's words for fact and lowly tells Ranma that it was him who did the kissing. Ranma is slightly angered that Akane thinks he would play with a girl's emotions just to cure his little problem. He then takes the packet from Akane and rips it up as proof of his position, much to the shock of the others. Ranma then thinks about how Akane thinks this even after he came to her defence. This sets Akane back, who begins to apologise to Ranma and then starts quivering and crying. As Akane does this, Ranma thinks to himself about how much of a dope Akane is as the packet he just ripped up was one of Shampoo's fakes. Akane then falls to her knees and begs Ranma for forgiveness and tells him she'll do anything to make it up to him. Ranma then tells Akane that she seems to have learned her lesson. He then tells Akane that to make it up to him, she has to give him her lunches for a month; do his homework for him and do something about her macho personality and musclebound body of hers. Akane agrees to the terms if it makes Ranma happy. Soun finds this situation interesting, as Kasumi asks Soun if he agrees that these are rather odd things for Ranma to request to make up for losing a cure for his curse. The Destroyer reveals the Nannīchuan packet in Ranma's hair, foiling Ranma's plan. Suddenly the Destroyer reappears and pulls out the real Nannīchuan packet out of Ranma's hair while calling him a liar. With he plan unravelled, Ranma in left in a panicked shock while the Tendos remain silent. Ranma then quickly kicks the Destroyer into the air while telling him this is none of his business, as the Destroyer flies off her calls Ranma a liar once again. Akane then dries her eyes and tries to say something to Ranma, to which Ranma's immediate response is to tell Akane just to say it. Akane then thanks Ranma for helping her. This worries Ranma slightly, who asks Akane if that's all. Akane says that she wanted to thank him before she says... Akane then hits Ranma while screaming "Ranma you liar!! ". This is the first fully directed independent film by Fellini and hints big time at the genius of circus, carnival, and human folly that will cumulate, follow, and deliver him as one of the world's greatest director's ever. An aspiring, just married couple, bored, naive, and innocent to the ways of big city Rome arrive there in 1951 for one day to meet his Pope connected uncle and family to get their blessing on their marriage. Unbeknownest to the fussy, decorum, husband, is his bethroughed has been fostering a lonely heart's club of one for a weekly cartoon character/often romantic TV serial heart throb White Sheik in her wistful abundant imagination of endless time left to herself. She has her feet in both camps as they embark upon first trip to Rome. What ensuses can only be drawn from Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, Buster Keaton, and circus/carnival acts from old Europe in an undescribable mad cap comedy that will pave Fellini's future forever. A just-married nervous couple from the countryside arrives in Rome where the husband (Ivan) has arranged to introduce his bride (Wanda) to important family relatives, tour major attractions, and meet the Pope. The bride, however has her own ideas about what is important to see in Rome, and they include a quick visit to a magazine studio where she has been corresponding with an actor known for his highly romantic photographed role as the White Sheik. Unbeknownst to Ivan, Wanda is utterly star-struck by this actor, avidly reading every magazine and memorizing verbatim all his stories. The movie has hilarious moments that stand the test of time. When Wanda disappears and Ivan has no idea what has happened to her, he is forced into the most ridiculous excuses to cover her absence. Wanda meanwhile has actually met the White Sheik and initially his charm is every bit as potent as his magazine image and soon she finds herself starring with him. As Wanda's fantasy fades in the face of reality, we see the white sheik as he really is: an overly vain buffoon. The story is imaginative, funny and touching, and apparently Fellini's debut as a director. Well-worth watching. When I bought the DVD recently I caught up on the more subtle plot interests - the WS is a hero only in front of the camera. The hapless husband of the besotted bride blunders along in desperate confusion, but it all comes right in the end as the bride realises the falseness of the WS Comic Strip world and lands with a bump back in reality (though her hubby doesn't quite know how). Slightly Chaplinesque!? So as a kid I was captivated mainly by the imagery (which is the first thing a film should have, I think), but the film viewed now did not disappoint. A highly enjoyable and funny "mainstream" offering from the Italian master. Surprisingly this film did not do well at the box office when it was released in 1952. I think a remake with someone like Hugh Grant playing Ivan and Scarlett Johanssen in the role of Wenda would pull in the romcom crowds. What we have here is Fellini's archetypal loser (Ivan) on his honeymoon in Rome with his gorgeous, if somewhat, insipid wife. The husband is on a tight schedule to be with important and influential relatives, visit the Pope for a matrimonial blessing (along with two hundred other newlyweds)and to see the sights. What he does not realise is that his wife has other ideas. Chiefly to visit her fantasy hero the White Sheik who exists in a comic strip Mills and Boon type magazine which Wenda devours with a delusionary romantic passion. The reality, of course, is quite different and much of the film's humour is captured in Wenda's realisation that what she reads on paper is not what is available in life. In pursuit of her hero she gets taken away from Rome which throws Ivan's plans into disarray. I found myself laughing out loud on many occasions and there are many touches ofthe Fellini to come. One scene finds Ivan staring at the stars which is justaposed with music whch could have been lifted straight from a Hollywood scifi B movie. Strange but it works. Two young newlyweds from a provincial town, Wanda (Brunella Bovo) and Ivan Cavalli (Leopoldo Trieste) arrive in Rome for their honeymoon. Wanda is obsessed with the "White Sheik" Alberto Sordi) the Rudolph Valentino-like hero of a soap opera photo strip and sneaks off to find him, leaving her conventional, petit bourgeois husband in hysterics as he tries to hide his wife's disappearance from his strait-laced relatives who are waiting to go with them to visit the Pope.
"The White Sheik" was Fellini's first solo effort as a director. He had previously co-directed "Variety Lights" in 1950 with Alberto Lattuada. Of course, we know now that Fellini went on to be one of the world's biggest directors and Lattuada is forgotten. And this is a solid effort, both fun and funny. Some have compared it to Chaplin, which is an exaggeration, there's definitely a promising career showcased here.
The plot line was re-used by Woody Allen in his film "To Rome with Love" not one of his bigger films. But it is always nice to see Allen pay tribute to his heroes, Fellini and Bergman.

The White Sheik is quite underrated - there's no reason why it should be so much less respected than the other early films, particularly La Strada and Nights of Cabiria, the two most often cited as masterpieces (and I'd agree. I actually like The White Sheik quite a bit better than I Vitelloni, Fellini's next film (Il Bidone is the only one from his early period that I have not yet seen. The White Sheik is quite humorous, perhaps Fellini's funniest (although so many of his films contain a great amount of comedy. No Fellini fan should go without seeing it, because so many of his themes and images are established in it. In fact, no one should miss Variety Lights, either, for the same reason. But The White Sheik, unlike Variety Lights, stands by itself as a great film. 9/10.
